‘Hadgkiss & Co’ was founded by the late William Hadgkiss in 1919 after the First World War. He was an excellent court advocate and after the Second World War became ‘Clerk of the Peace’ in Birmingham and Smethwick.
Over the years, the firm has grown through a number of mergers with other practices notably Beale & Co and Scadding & Jessop (both of which were established in the mid nineteenth century), Clayton & Co, Morgan Lugsdin & Haskins, Richard Morpuss & Co, Paul Tobias and Mann & Co (Kings Heath).
More recently, the firm has successfully incorporated the long established and well respected practices of Eyre & Co (Hall Green) and Prior Cumberlidge & Pugh (Yardley) which has enabled us to offer an enhanced and more extensive range of services.
We have built up a very wide private client base and are now one of the oldest established High Street Practices in Birmingham. Our Acocks Green office boasts the oldest suburban Solicitors’ Office in Birmingham.
We are, therefore, very much a traditional, general high street practice serving the individual and small businesses and companies. The Litigation Practice is based on crime, family and general civil work. The non-contentious side of the practice centres on commercial and residential property, probate, wills and trusts and business acquisitions and sales. All of our legal services are delivered by extremely experienced lawyers.
Hadgkiss Hughes & Beale aims to maintain and further its reputation as providing a quality service. We pride ourselves on a modern approach to the law while maintaining traditional values.
